The Cupertino de Miranda Foundation launched the International Festival of Portuguese Polyphony in 2011 and it is now part of its annual programme. So, in 2024, we'll be at the eleventh edition of the Festival, with the aims of promoting polyphonic music from the 16th and 17th centuries, but also publicising the history and architecture of the places it passes through, linked to the Baroque period.
In 2024, the Festival will be held in the cities of Coimbra (Church of the Monastery of Santa Cruz), Porto (Church of São Lourenço (Grilos), Amarante (Church of São Gonçalo), Vila Nova de Famalicão (Church of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Landim) and Braga (Basilica of Bom Jesus do Monte). The full programme includes concerts by the vocal group Cupertinos and organist Yves Rechsteiner, in two concerts (Porto and Amarante, which are a reason to promote national culture.
