Cupertino de Miranda Foundation

The exhibition extends over four floors and fourteen rooms, and in each of the rooms there is a text explaining what is shown inside.
The exhibition is offered from the present to the past, seeking to establish connections between each of the spaces that may at times be less obvious.
We begin in the 20th century and retreat back to the 13th century.

With the key objective of making ‘Famalicão, the Centre for Portuguese Surrealism’, the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation carried out remodelling works in its building in order to create the necessary conditions to host exhibitions and thus ensure the launch of the Portuguese Centre for Surrealism (CPS) – an expansion and repositioning of its former Centre for Surrealist Studies (CES).

The Education Service of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation seeks to develop cultural awareness programmes – educational and fun activities that promote the dialogue between the public and the collections of the Museum.
